BridgeValley Community and Technical College names Jones to the position of Vice President of Student Affairs

Todd Jones, Ed.D., will join BridgeValley Community and Technical College in July as Vice President of Student Affairs. Dr. Jones brings 25 years of experience in Admissions and Student Affairs administration to the senior leadership position.

Previously, Dr. Jones held leadership roles spanning 15 years at Georgia Highlands College (GHC), a comprehensive, multi-campus state college within the University System of Georgia. As Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Dean, he led strategic planning efforts to help meet institutional goals. His leadership in the institution’s enrollment efforts that made GHC the second largest state college within the University System of Georgia.

In this role, he oversaw enrollment services for the institution with direct supervision over Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Counseling, Disability Services, Veterans Affairs, Student Life, and the office of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Dr. Jones also was responsible for directing the operations of the Floyd Campus and the James D. Maddox Heritage Hall, an off-campus academic learning center.

Dr. Jones began his career at the college as the Director of Admissions. During his GHC tenure, he also served as Director of Campus Operations – Floyd Campus, Interim Associate Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, and Campus Dean.

He is a recipient of the USG Chancellor’s Service Excellence Award for Student Improvement Initiative Team and the Administrator of the Year Award at Georgia Highlands College.

Prior to his work with GHC, he had 12 years of experience working in admissions at Berry College

After earning his A.S. in Education degree at Young Harris College, Dr. Jones continued his undergraduate studies at Berry College, where he received a B.S. degree in Sociology. He holds a M.A. degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education, from Ball State University, and an Ed.D. degree from the University of Georgia.
