The University of West Florida taps Garrett for Assistant Director of the Center for Cybersecurity

Guy Garrett, MS, MBA, has been appointed Assistant Director of the Center for Cybersecurity at the University of West Florida. He will join the UWF center in August 2018.

Garrett currently serves as Associate Professor of Cybersecurity and Program Manager Sector 512 Cybersecurity & Communications Training Center at Gulf Coast State College. He joined the College in 2009 after serving four years as a Senior Account Manager and Technical Sales Representative for Dell, Inc. Previously he had a 14-year career in published and broadcast media.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia, Garrett earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering and a graduate certificate in Medical Informatics from the University of West Florida.

In 2017, he gave the keynote threat briefing for the international Cyber Libertad 17 Table Top Exercise co-sponsored by USNORTHCOM and USSOUTHCOM for military delegations from Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, and the U.S.
