
Wilson G. Bradshaw
Wilson G. Bradshaw, Ph.D., has served as President of Florida Gulf Coast University since 2007. Previously, he was president at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was also a professor of psychology and a full member of the graduate faculty.
From 1995 to 2000, Dr. Bradshaw served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. For the five years prior, he was the Vice President and Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at Georgia Southern University, also serving as a professor in psychology. He also served at Florida Atlantic University, where he held several titles including Dean of Graduate Studies and tenured associate professor in psychology.
His career in academia includes a wide spectrum of educational posts including assistant professor of pharmacology at Florida A&M University/VA Medical Center, instructor of physiology at the Wright State University School of Medicine in Ohio, and instructor at the University of Pittsburgh.
A Florida native, Dr. Bradshaw earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Arts in experimental psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1981, he was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship for "Laboratory of Neural and Endocrine Regulation" from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is widely published in professional periodicals and journals.
Dr. Bradshaw has attended the Harvard Presidents' Workshop on Fundraising, and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities New Presidents' Academy. During his tenure at Metropolitan State, he served on the boards of Securian Financial Group Inc., the Bush Foundation, the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce and numerous other organizations.
