Julie A. Steele, Vice President, has a rich background in both corporate and nonprofit management. Before joining Myers McRae, she served four years as Executive Director of the Crisis Line and Safe House of Central Georgia in Macon. As the chief officer for the crisis intervention agency, she recruited, trained and managed both the professional staff and the volunteers, as well as worked with federal, state and local agencies for funding. 

Ms. Steele began her corporate career in New York City, where she worked five years with Equitable Life, one of the nation’s prominent insurance companies. Her responsibilities progressively increased during her tenure, as she served as Senior Training Consultant, Sales Promotion Manager, National Recruitment Coordinator and Project Manager for a Senior Vice President.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in technical communication from Mercer University’s School of Engineering. Her studies focused on instructional design and delivery through both written and oral presentations.

With an enduring commitment to serving others, she has been an active volunteer with the Salvation Army in the organization’s fundraising efforts and its safe house for victims of domestic violence program.  She is a member of the Macon Rotary Club, Junior League of Macon, Career Women’s Network and the Leadership Macon Class of 2006.
