Jon McRae founded the Jon McRae & Associates (the predecessor of Myers McRae) executive search firm in 1968. He has conducted hundreds of presidential and cabinet-level search assignments for institutions of higher education, independent schools, and not-for-profit organizations.

In addition to having served as Chair of the American Council on Education’s Executive Search Roundtable, he has been a member of the Board of Visitors for the Georgia Foundation for Independent Colleges. In providing direct leadership to private schools, he currently is serving his third term on the Board of Trustees at Riverside Military Academy in Georgia.

His earlier career included service as an infantry officer, as a lending officer with Wachovia Bank, and as a sales manager with the Pelton & Crane Company. A native of North Carolina, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College.
