
Emily Parker Myers, President and Chief Executive Officer, is known for her commitment to excellence. She brings extensive firsthand knowledge and experience in higher education administration and executive searches as well as an exceptional record in successful fundraising and capital campaigns, one of the most crucial administrative areas for a thriving university.
She served 29 years as Senior Vice President for University Advancement and External Affairs at Mercer University in Georgia. During her tenure, Mercer received private gifts and grants of more than $500 million and more than $300 million from the State of Georgia for funding of the Mercer School of Medicine. In addition, some $300 million was designated in estate gifts that will be forthcoming to the University. She has been nationally recognized for her fundraising accomplishments.
In her senior administrative role, Ms. Myers coordinated all of Mercer’s external relations programs, including university relations, governmental affairs, alumni services, fundraising, capital campaigns, arts administration, donor records and research, and university special events for the institution’s 11 colleges and schools in Macon, Atlanta and Savannah as well as three regional academic centers. Trustees, senior administrators and community leaders sought her counsel on projects and concerns.
Ms. Myers served on many executive search committees, either as the chair or a member. Among the searches in which she was involved were the President of the University, Dean of the School of Law, Dean of the School of Engineering, Vice President of Student Affairs, and Vice President of Admissions.
Throughout her extensive administrative career, Ms. Myers earned a reputation for taking areas experiencing operational difficulties and returning them to productive projects or units. At the request of the president, she worked with the university’s undergraduate admissions program. Under her leadership, the office recruited the most academically talented freshman class in the university’s history. She also directed the student recruitment programs at Jacksonville University and Mercer University before transitioning into Advancement.
A graduate of Florida State University, Ms. Myers also has held administrative positions at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, and Stetson University School of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. She has served on numerous professional boards and committees.
