McDaniel College Board Announces National Presidential Search

from PRWeb

Westminster, MD (PRWEB) August 22, 2009 -- McDaniel College's Board of Trustees has announced the
commencement of a national search for its ninth president. The next president will succeed President Joan
Develin Coley who announced her retirement last spring and will complete a decade exemplary leadership in July
2010.

A Presidential Search Committee, appointed by the Board, includes eight trustees, three elected faculty members,
one administrator and one student. The Committee is broadly representative of the McDaniel College
Community, and four of its members are alumni.

Mary Lynn Durham, Class of 1970, trustee and vice-chair of the Board, will chair the Search Committee. Ms.
Durham invites "all alumni and members of the campus community to share their views on the search, send
suggestions to the Committee, and provide referrals.."

McDaniel is fortunate to have Myers McRae, a nationally recognized consulting
firm, serving as the professional advisor to the Search Committee. The firm has successfully completed numerous
national searches for presidents and cabinet-level appointments for higher education institutions.

The Search Committee wishes to encourage comments and referrals from members and friends of the College
and higher education communities. The Presidential Search Committee will hold open forums regarding the
search on campus during the week of August 31.

Additional information about the search is available at McDaniel Presidential Search website.
