Virginia Wesleyan College Appoints Vail as Vice President of Advancement

Myers McRae Executive Search and Consulting is pleased to announce that President William T. Greer Jr. of Virginia Wesleyan College has appointed Ms. Mita K. Vail as the College’s new Vice President for Advancement. She will join in the College’s administration in April.

Ms. Vail brings extensive fundraising leadership experience to her new position. From 2005 to 2009, she was Vice President of Development at YMCA of South Hampton. Earlier in her career, she served 10 years as Senior Vice President of Development and Government Relations at The Mariner’s Museum and 14 years as Vice President of Development at WHRO, Public Telecommunications for Hampton Road. A graduate of Hollins College in Roanoke, Va., she has served on the Board of Directors of CIVIC Leadership Institute and LEAVE A LEGACY Hampton Roads.

Chartered in 1961, Virginia Wesleyan College is a four-year, private liberal arts college that encourages intellectual growth, personal development and lasting relationships. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the co-educational college is recognized both regionally and nationally for its academic excellence. Offering 40 majors, the College, located on the border of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, enrolls 1,400 undergraduates and has a 13:1 student/faculty ratio, ensuring students personalized attention from professors.
