Myers McRae to Conduct Presidential Search for Newberry College
Newberry College has selected Myers McRae to conduct a national search for its 21st President. Founded in 1856, the selective, four-year liberal arts college is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The College has seen steady increases in enrollment, a strengthened financial status, an improved physical plant, and stronger academic programs. Newberry seeks a visionary leader, who has exceptional administrative experience and a commitment to academic excellence, to serve as its next President.
Ranked in the top 15 percent of baccalaureate colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report, Newberry has a current enrollment of 1,094, primarily residential students. The College’s engaged, values-based, liberal arts general education curriculum creates a strong foundation for its broad range of majors and pre-professional programs. The Teacher Education program is NCATE accredited, and a Nursing program was recently added. The College offers the only undergraduate forensic chemistry program in South Carolina.
More than 50 percent of Newberry students participate in intercollegiate sports. The 15 men’s and women’s athletic teams compete successfully in the NCAA-Division II South Atlantic Conference.
Jon McRae and Kenny Daugherty of Myers McRae will conduct the national search. They may be reached at jonmcrae@myersmcrae.com, (404) 812-1959 and kennydaugherty@myersmcrae.com, (478) 330-6224.
